What I eat in a day

WIEIAD - Lagree Fitness instructor edition

I always love seeing other people’s WIEIAD posts on social media, so I figured I would share what I eat in a day as a Lagree Fitness instructor!  This is just an example of what a typical weekday looks like when I’m coaching multiple classes to give you an idea of how I stay nourished and hydrated to fuel my body.  Whether you are also a fitness coach or just feeling in a rut with your meal planning, I hope this provides some inspo for your next grocery haul!

Breakfast

  • AG1 before any coffee or food.  I start my morning with a scoop of AG1 mixed with 8 ounces of water.  Not only is this getting water into my system first thing, but I’m providing vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from the greens powder to my body after being dehydrated from sleeping all night.

  • On mornings that I coach early Lagree classes, I usually heat up chicken bone broth from Brodino Broth or grab a yogurt parfait that I made the night before for a quick breakfast.

    • The combo I’ve been loving lately for my yogurt parfaits is: 1 serving of Siggis or Straus yogurt, 1 tbsp of flaxseed, 1 tbsp hemp hearts, 1 tbsp almond butter, and 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder which equals 30+ grams of protein!  I’ll top it with organic blueberries or strawberries for some fiber and fruit.

  • On slower mornings when I have a little more time, I’ll make a couple eggs with avocado for healthy fats and some sourdough toast with grass-fed butter.

I find that when I have a protein packed breakfast first thing in the morning (before coffee) I don’t feel as jittery, and I have more energy to sustain me to teach multiple classes in a row.

Coffee

Yes, I’m dedicating an entire section to coffee.  One of my favorite morning rituals is making my latte.  I do 2 shots of organic espresso, 1 tsp of superfood dirt spice, 1 scoop of prebiotic fiber and froth cashew milk (I’ve been liking this one since it has no added gums or sugar).  This makes the smoothest, creamiest latte packed with superfoods from the alkalizing dirt food powder and gut benefits from the prebiotic fiber.  The dirt food spice has a hint of chai flavor, so the latte tastes like a dirty chai.  It is seriously one of my favorite parts of my morning; just writing about this makes me want to make a cup at 4pm lol!

Snacks

If I coached classes early in the morning, I’m typically hungry again by the time I get home.  I love making a smoothie mid-morning if I feel like I need a snack to hold me over.  I’ve been loving Rachael’s Good Eats chunky monkey smoothie lately which is a combo of two of my favorite flavors – chocolate and peanut butter!

If I’m hungry in the afternoon before dinner, I’ll typically grab for a Chomps beef stick, protein bar (I like Go Macro, Bhu, or Perfect Bars) or have a few protein energy balls that I made for the week (I’ve been loving this recipe).

Lunch

One of my favorite quick, easy lunch meals is heating up Brodino soups.  We get their soups as the Little Italy Farmer’s Market in San Diego and they are all made with quality organic ingredients.  My favorites are the chicken wild rice and golden curry.  I love stocking up on these soups because they are delicious, packed with tons of protein, and require zero meal prep which we love during a busy week!  If I’m not having soup, I’ll heat up leftovers from the previous night.

Dinner

We usually keep dinner simple during the week.  Lately we’ve been making burrito bowls using organic, grass-fed ground beef, a shallot, garlic, jalapeno, mushrooms, Siete taco seasoning, white rice, and top it off with guac and hot sauce.  I like to have some carbs at night to keep me full and the protein also helps keep me satiated until breakfast in the morning.

Nightcap

As I start to wind down, I’ll make either an LMNT hot cocoa or organic herbal tea.  Having a hot drink as I start to wind down is so comforting and helps get me into a relaxed state.  Most nights I like to have a little something sweet after dinner too which has been Rachael’s Good Eats paleo fudge or Trader Joe's vegan cookies & cream vanilla bon bons.  Consider this your warning if you buy the bon bons…they are so addictive!

This is just an example of what I eat during a typical weekday – I’ve found a healthy balance and if I want the side of fries or the glass of wine, I’m not going to restrict it.  As always, listen to your body and find an intuitive way to eat that works for you.  I am not a doctor, and my way of eating is bio-individual to me, meaning it might not work for you.  Let me know if this is helpful in providing some inspo for your weekly meals.  <3
